Fees

$50 per hour for single letters, resumes, cover letters

$65 per hour for fiction

$75-100 per hour for creative nonfiction and nonfiction

$75 per hour for public speaking services

A discount will be provided for customers who contract with Perfectly Penned for all stages of the editing process. 

Terms and Conditions

If the client presents a simple business or personal letter, a combined cycle of line editing and copyediting followed by proofreading should suffice. A contract will be created; work will begin with a 50% deposit of the final estimated cost. The client will receive suggested edits to incorporate or reject via Google Docs or Microsoft Word Online. Upon completion, a final draft with watermark will be emailed to the client. When final payment is complete, the final document will be released. Typical turnaround time is one to two weeks; rush orders require an additional fee. 

 

If the client presents a more elaborate product such as a work of fiction, nonfiction, or a compilation of blogs, a consultation will be provided so the client can determine the type(s) of editing his or her work requires; a contract with a detailed timeline will be created; work will begin with a 50% deposit of the estimated final cost. Consultations throughout the editing stages will be provided as specified in the contract. One or two remaining payments may be arranged. The final draft with a watermark will be sent. When final payment is complete, the final document will be released.

Consultations via personal meeting may be arranged in the Richmond, Virginia area. All other consultations will be available via phone, Facetime, or similar meeting app. If out-of-town clients require personal meetings, they will be responsible for covering transportation costs and per diem expenses.
